Sports: Arsenal hit by Cech injury blow

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech was forced to come off with a muscle strain during the first half of Saturday’s Premier League fixture at West Bromwich Albion .

Cech sustained the leg problem while playing a pass from inside his own penalty area and was unable to continue playing after several minutes ’ treatment.

The former Chelsea star limped off in the 38 th minute to be replaced by David Ospina , who has mostly been used by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger in cup competitions this season.

If Cech is absent for a prolonged period it would be a significant blow to Wenger as he battles to lift his side back into the Premier League’s top four in the closing weeks of a troubled campaign .
