Before you mention five top monarchs in Nigeria, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s name and title must pop up!

He is one of the most revered kings in Nigeria and most especially, the Yoruba kingdom.

Being on the throne of his fore fathers for about forty seven (47) years, the great King already has a picture in the mind and heart of many who know of him.

Hence it would be a thing of great surprise to see that the King was once a young man before he attained his present great age of 79 and very dignified status.

These old photos of Alaafin of Oyo, Iku Baba Yeye shows a much younger Oba Adeyemi before he ascended the throne and shortly after he was crowned.
