BREAKING: ASUU Warning-Strike hits UNIOSUN, as Call off date remain Undecided [Full Gist]

A2Bers, It Seems Aspirants of the state University have to take some chill pills as ASUU Warning strike kicks in the Institution.

According to OLOFOFO UNIOSUN, The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Osun State University Branch has embarked on a warning strike effective from 12 midnight on Thursday, 27th September, 2018.

In a letter received by Olofofo Uniosun from the Chairperson of the branch; Dr. M. O Abanikanda. The letter stated that the decision was made immediately after an emergency congress held at the main campus on Thursday 27th, September 2018.

“ASUU-UNIOSUN has embarked on a warning strike effective from 12 midnight on Thursday, 27th September, 2018. This declaration was made by the branch chairperson, Dr. M. O. Abanikannda in an emergency congress held at the main campus of the university on Thursday, 27th September, 2017. Dr. Abanikannda noted that the NLC warning strike became necessary in order to press for the conclusion of negotiation on minimum wage. The branch chairperson who is also the chairman of the Branch Strike Monitoring Committee (BSMC) emphasized that during the strike, the BSMC would move round the campuses of the university to ensure total compliance. While the strike is on, academic members of staff shall abstain from all official engagements, regular and part time teaching including statutory and other committee meetings.” – the letter stated.

While Olofofo Uniosun correspondent was interviewing the Chairperson of ASUU-UNIOSUN, he made it known that the strike is a warning strike and the date to call it off remains undecided.
