Disheartening: Son Of Late Leicester City Owner Weeps At Crash Site After Missing Fatal Flight (Photos)

The devastated son of Leicester owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha wept as he laid a wreath for his dad at the helicopter crash site today.

Aiyawatt had missed the flight on Saturday as he was in home in Thailand but is usually at his dad’s side at Leicester games in his role as vice chairman.

He wept as he lay a floral tribute today among of a sea of wreaths and well-wishes left by fans of the club. Aiyawatt put his head down deep in thought as he was joined by Vichai’s wife Aimon, who also sobbed as she looked at the memorial.

Known as “Top”, English-speaking Aiyawatt acts as an adviser to his dad and was also behind Leicester’s incredible Premiership win in 2016.
Srivaddhanaprabha’s helicopter came down in a car park behind the King Power Stadiumfollowing a Premier League game between Leicester and West Ham on Saturday.

Hero pilot Eric Swaffer was also killed as well as his co-pilot girlfriend Izabela Roza Lechowicz.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said inspectors have recovered the digital flight data recorder and they are continuing to investigate.

Srivaddhanaprabha’s eight-seat helicopter flew just 200m before nosediving to the ground in a car park behind the King Power Stadium. Vichai, 60, bought the club for £39 million in 2010 and led it to a first Premier League title in 2015-16 despite odds of 5,000-1.

The tragedy is being described as the “darkest day” in the club’s history, and mourners began laying wreaths near the stadium on Sunday morning.

Bouquets, flags and football shirts have been left outside the ground by members of the public on alongside a large image of the Hindu god Ganesh which was also propped up amidst the flowers.

Tributes have also flooded in from the footballing world with Leicester referring to their chairman as a “great man”.
