Gbam: How UNIOSUN Students Outburst, Protest Against The Arrest And Harassment Of Colleagues By EFCC On Thursday [Full Gist + Photos]

A2B gathered that Osun State University Students at the main campus staged a protest against the gruesome arrest of their colleagues by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives around the early hour of Thursday.

An internal source revealed to A2SATSBLOG that over 30 Students were arrested alongside a staff of the institution who was recording the activities when some of the operatives who claimed to be EFCC with no tag nor means of identification to recognise where they came from trooped in in numbers and batched into a particular hostel in the school area, Oke-Baale around 7am.

The act of violence by the EFCC operatives was at it's highest pitch as Students were beaten and harrased before being dragged inside the Bus.

Another source revealed to A2B that almost all the male students in the hostel were arrested as suspected Yahoo Boys without proper verification.

Story of a male Student who had a test that morning but had went to read at his friend's hostel(overnight) which happened to be that same hostel which the EFCC burst went viral after he was also apprehended by the agencies.

Students however trooped out in masses to protest against this particular act by blocking the Osogbo - Ibokun Road with a bonfire and paralysed commercial activities in the area for several hours .

The protesters alleged that the EFCC operatives who arrested the students tortured those arrested before they were taken away.

Pleas by the Deputy Vice -Chancellor of the institution , Prof. Janet Olaitan, and policemen deployed to the scene, urging the protesting students to unblock the road and return to campus were ignored until teargas was used to disperse them .

At about noon, A2B gathered that there was a rise in Tension all over the campus as some unidentified men allegedly trooped onto the campus, tear down some banners inorder to show their displeasure in the act carried out by the EFCC.

The state ’s Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Ige , who spoke at another forum in Osogbo, said the EFCC operatives arrested the students, adding that the commission would investigate and take appropriate action after investigations.

Informations reaching us at A2B states that almost all of the students have been released alongside the Staff of the University who was also apprehended.

  1. This so could EFCC I don't think they know what they are doing, I believe the government should look into this.
