Must see: Fans reaction on Twitter after Barcelona and Real Sociedad match

Fans on Twitter have reacted after Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard put in an impressive showing in Sociedad's 2-2 draw with Barcelona.

Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard has been one LaLiga’s sensations this season, with the Norwegian continuing his rich vein of form for Real Sociedad against leaders Barcelona on Saturday.

With their minds on the Clásico next week, Madrid fans will no doubt be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of the young midfielder lining out for Los Blancos against their arch rivals in the future after watching his impressive performance against Messi and Co.

The 21-year-old Norwegian played an instrumental role in helping Sociedad to secure a commendable draw against the current champions, who conceded a goal in the 62nd minute that drew the score level 2-2.

Odegaard "commanding" and "formidable" against Barcelona

On another impressive night for the Norway international, Odegaard had 89 touches, won five out of nine duels, had four shots on target, completed four dribbles, created three chances and achieved a 90% passing accuracy rate.

Such was Odegaard’s incredible performance that fans and journalists alike have taken to Twitter to praise the Madrid.

“Apart from his stats - he was a commanding, formidable presence who really troubled Barcelona. Phenomenal,” tweeted LaLiga TV host Semra Hunter.

“Odegaard. What a player,” was the short-and-sweet reaction of The Guardian’s Spanish football correspondent Sid Lowe while watching the Madrid loanee offer a masterclass to Barcelona.

Odegaard “schooled” Messi and De Jong

Madrid fans were equally in awe of Odegaard’s showing against Barca, with some pointing out that he “schooled” the likes of Frenkie De Jong and Lionel Messi.

“Odegaard schooled Messi and De Jong, what a talent,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

“Sociedad players eliminated Barça's philosophy related to possession through the high pressing. Odegaard was brilliant through moving behind Barça's midfield as Busquets and Rakitic were too slow to track back,” tweeted another.

“Martin Odegaard is showing Real Madrid why they need to get him back as soon as possible. His performance in this match has been amazing,” tweeted another Madrid fan eager to see the talented Scandinavian back at the Bernabéu.
