Buhari charge Traditional Rulers to Be vanguards of his anti-corruption war
President Muhammadu Buhari has charged traditional rulers in the country to form a strong vanguard in support of his fight against corruption in the country
Buhari made the call on Friday at the celebration of the Aku Uka of Wukari Dr. Shekarau Angyu’s 40 anniversary as the Jukun paramount ruler in Wukari, Taraba.
Represented by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalong, the President urged the traditional rulers to strip politicians and others found to be corrupt of their chieftaincy titles.
Buhari, who thanked Nigerians for their prayers for his successful return, pledged to serve the country with renewed vigour to meet the yearnings and aspirations of citizens.
While congratulating the Aku Uka for clocking 40 years on the throne and for his exemplary leadership style since 1976 when he was installed, Buhari prayed God to grant him more years to serve the people.
Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba commended the Aku Uka for uniting the people of the kingdom.
Ishaku called on the people of the state to continue to support the royal father to enable him to bring more development to his subjects.
Angyu became the 13th Aku Uka in 1976.
