Mark Dayton , Governor of Minnesota, has declared October 6 ‘ Wizkid Day’ in the state as he describes the singer as ” one of the most influential artists of our time” .

This is coming after Wizkid became the first African artist to sell out the Skyway Theatre in Minnesota , US.
The singer disclosed he sold out the venue via Twitter when he tweeted ;
“ Sold out again last night ! Love u Minnesota, y’ all in my heart forever. ”

Wizkid have been raising the bar for African artists ever since he signed a major deal with Sony / RCA , selling out the Royal Albert Hall , 02 Arena and more to his name . This must have impressed the Governor of Minnesota which made him decorate Wizkid this much.
