Due to a relentless fixture schedule, managers are worried about player availability during the club football season, which will be suspended throughout November and December in preparation for the World Cup in Qatar.

Mbappe has scored 10 goals in just nine games this season, has missed just one league game thus far, and has played in each of France’s final two Nations League group stage contests.

In an interview with the French publication Telefoot, Deschamps expressed his worries about the 23-year-old: “I know he [Galtier] still wants to play Kylian. But from time to time, to be able to breathe a little bit, to have a few good minutes less, it won’t fail him – quite the contrary.”

With PSG flying high this season and Mbappe playing a key role in their strong start under new manager Galtier, it’s difficult to imagine him being rested and rotated.

The pressure is on the Frenchman and PSG to perform in Europe, having failed to win the Champions League since their rise to football prominence over the past ten years. The Frenchman played the full 90 minutes in both of PSG’s two Champions League group stage matches thus far.
