The decade saw some fine individual performances, such as Aguero providing only the fifth instance of a player scoring five goals in a game. 

The Argentinian striker bagged a quintuple against Newcastle United during a 2015-16 EPL game for Manchester City.

During this period, Aguero also equalled Alan Shearer's record for most Premier League hat-tricks.

On that note, let us have a look at the top five players who scored the most Premier League goals in the decade that was 2010-2019.

5 - Van Persie (Arsenal / Manchester United): 98 goals

The Dutch striker scored 98 goals in 154 Premier League games for Arsenal and Manchester United during the 2010s decade, before moving out to Turkish side Fenerbahce at the start of the 2015-16 season.

Van Persie scored a league-high 30 goals for Arsenal in 2011-12. His 26 goals for Manchester United in 2012-13 was also unsurpassed by any other player during the season.

The Dutchman bagged hat-tricks for Arsenal against Chelsea and Blackburn respectively in 2011-12, before bagging hat-tricks for his new club Manchester United against Southampton and Aston Villa respectively in 2012-13.

4 - Lukaku (Chelsea / West Bromwich/ Everton / Manchester United): 113 goals

Lukaku scored 113 goals in 252 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, West Bromwich, Everton and Manchester United from 2011-12 to 2018-19.

The Belgian striker bagged hat-tricks for West Bromwich against Manchester United in 2012-13, and for Everton against Sunderland and Bournemouth (four goals) respectively in 2016-17.

Lukaku's 25 goals for Everton in the 2016-17 season was the best by any player in the season, behind only Sergio Aguero's tally of 29 for Manchester City.

3 - Rooney (Manchester United / Everton): 128 goals

The all-time top scorer for Manchester United, Wayne Rooney scored 114 Premier League goals in the 2010s decade for the Old Trafford club and Everton in 247 games.

During this period, Rooney bagged Premier League hat-tricks for Manchester United against Hull City (four goals) in 2009-10, West Ham United in 2010-11 and Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers in successive games in 2011-12. 

He scored his last hat-trick in the English top-flight for Everton against West Ham United in 2017-18.

Rooney's 208 Premier League goals is only behind Alan Shearer's tally of 260 in the list of all-time scorers in the competition.

2 - Kane (Tottenham/ Norwich): 136 goals

With 136 goals from 200 Premier League appearances for Tottenham and Norwich, Kane has the second-highest goals in the English top-flight in the 2010s decade.

Kane has scored all his Premier League goals for Tottenham. He scored his first Premier League hat-trick for Spurs against Leicester City in 2014-15, before scoring one against Bournemouth in 2015-16.

The English striker bagged four Premier League hat-tricks in the 2016-17 season, doing so respectively against West Bromwich, Stoke City, Leicester City (four) and Hull City. The Tottenham player scored successive hat-tricks against Burnley and Southampton in 2017-18.

Kane's tallies of 25 and 29 goals respectively in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons were the most by any player during the two seasons, while his tally of 30 goals in 2017-18 was only dwarfed by Sergio Aguero (32) for Manchester City.

1 - Aguero (Manchester City): 174 goals

Sergio Aguero's tally of 174 Premier League goals is the most by any player in the decade that was 2010 to 2019.

The Argentinian striker stands in fifth place for most goals in the Premier League, and has the most English top-flight goals for an active player.

Aguero's tally of 26 goals was the highest recorded by any player in the 2014-15 Premier League, while his respective tallies of 24 in 2015-16 and 21 in 2018-19 were only one behind those season's top-scorers.

The Argentinian provided only the fifth instance of a player scoring five goals in a Premier League game when he did so against Newcastle United in 2015-16.

His 11 Premier League hat-tricks is a record tally for one club while it is the joint-highest, along with Alan Shearer, to be scored by a player in the Premier League era.
